But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. (1 Th 4:13)
As the Apostle invites us, we should not grieve as those “who have no hope” but should entrust ourselves to God’s mercy. Let us then, join in prayer for God’s mercy on their souls that they may be loosened from their sins (cf. CCC 958) and earthly attachments, and can enjoy the eternal reward.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.
